God’s Help For The New Year!

Hi Friends! Here’s A Bible Thought For You.

Deut 33:25 AKJV/PCE Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.
NOTE – I know that some translate this as bars or bolts on a gate making them secure. But Brown Driver Briggs Definitions says “shoe” and that seems to fit the area where the tribe of Asher lived. And this blessing was to Asher. So I’m staying with the Authorized Version, BDB, and “shoes”.
The last couple of years have been hard for many. So we might wonder if we’ll make it again in this New Year!
Jesus warned us that there would still be war and strife –
Mark 13:7 AKJV/PCE And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.
So what about the New Year . . what does it hold for us?
Can we make it through this New Year?
Well the overall sense of that Key Verse Deuteronomy 33:25 is that God is giving us what we need to make it!
So Yes we can make it with God.
Walk with Him and trust Him and God will bring you through.
Prov 3:9 AKJV/PCE Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
Prov 3:10 AKJV/PCE So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
Phil 4:19 AKJV/PCE But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Phil 4:20 AKJV/PCE Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Now let’s look at that Key Verse again –
Deut 33:25 AKJV/PCE Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.
Iron shoes indicate that it will be a hard path sometimes.
And the promise of strength may indicate that we will feel like our strength is failing at times and we’ll have to look to God and His promises!
We just have to remember that we haven’t made it yet.
We aren’t all the way home yet.
There’s still a ways to go…
We have to keep on pressing on toward God.
Look what Hosea 6:3 says about God’s provisions for His people.
Hos 6:3 AKJV/PCE Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
See God knows about us. And He knows our needs.
He knows how many days we have to keep walking. And He knows when we need rain – or anything else – And He will send it.
We need to know that about God.
He is with us.
He will bring us what we need.
So we must press on in faith…
Think about this –
Deut 33:25 AKJV/PCE Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.
Now why would Asher need shoes of iron?
UNDERSTAND That Ahser lived in rocky territory.
So they needed good shoes to protect them as they walked.
And we also need good solid spiritual shoes to take us on that walk of faith that God has for us.
Think about that…
The Apostle Paul had an extremely hard life watching over the churches.
Many times he suffered from need (See 2 Corinthians 11:23-28) – just not having enough. But look how he felt about his life and God’s help –
Gal 6:9 AKJV/PCE And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Phil 4:13 AKJV/PCE I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
That’s a very Positive Attitude for such a difficult harsh life like Paul had!
I get the sense that he stayed spiritually close to the Lord all the time.
And Paul told the Ephesians to keep on an entire wardrobe of good spiritual clothing! Look what Paul tells them –
Eph 6:14 AKJV/PCE Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Eph 6:15 AKJV/PCE And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
In fact, Paul says we need to put on Christ –
Rom 13:12 AKJV/PCE The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
Rom 13:13 AKJV/PCE Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
Rom 13:14 AKJV/PCE But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
So it seems to me that this putting on Christ and our spiritual armor and those shoes with iron souls has a great deal to do with getting closer to the Lord all the time. And learning to move away from sins. And that is so hard to learn!
Now let’s look at that Key Verse one last time –
Deut 33:25 AKJV/PCE Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.
It says “as thy days” meaning the number of days that you’ll have and surely even how your days are going at the moment. And that’s another great thought for us.
God knows our days . . and they are numbered.
He even knows how much hair we have on our head.
I have less than I used to…
And Jesus said –
Matt 10:30 AKJV/PCE But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
So our Father knows each one of us very well.
He knows exactly how our lives are going.
He knows our strengths and our weaknesses.
And He has given us enough strength for each and every day of our lives.
From the first to the last.
God is there walking with us and helping us every step of the way.
So let’s draw closer to the Lord, putting all that armor and those shoes that God has for us. And let’s walk confidently into this New Year remembering that God says He knows all about us and He will help us.

Así que sí, podemos lograrlo con la ayuda de Dios.
Camina con Él y confía en Él, y Dios te guiará.

Ahora volvamos a examinar ese versículo clave:

Los zapatos de hierro indican que a veces el camino será difícil.
Y la promesa de fortaleza puede significar que en ocasiones sentiremos que nuestras fuerzas flaquean y tendremos que recurrir a Dios y a sus promesas.
Solo tenemos que recordar que aún no hemos llegado.
Todavía no estamos en casa.
Aún nos queda camino por recorrer…
Tenemos que seguir adelante, perseverando en nuestra búsqueda de Dios.
Mira lo que dice Oseas 6:3 sobre las provisiones de Dios para su pueblo.
Hos 6:3 RVG10 Y conoceremos, y proseguiremos en conocer a Jehová; su salida está dispuesta como el alba, y vendrá a nosotros como la lluvia, como la lluvia tardía y temprana a la tierra.
Dios nos conoce. Y conoce nuestras necesidades.
Él sabe cuántos días nos quedan por caminar. Y sabe cuándo necesitamos lluvia, o cualquier otra cosa, y nos la enviará.

¿Por qué necesitaría Aser zapatos de hierro?
Entendemos que Aser vivía en un territorio rocoso.
Por lo tanto, necesitaban buenos zapatos para protegerse al caminar.
Y nosotros también necesitamos buenos y sólidos zapatos espirituales para recorrer el camino de fe que Dios tiene preparado para nosotros.
Piensa en ello…
El apóstol Pablo tuvo una vida extremadamente difícil velando por las iglesias.
Muchas veces sufrió privaciones (véase 2 Corintios 11:23-28), simplemente no tenía lo suficiente. Pero fíjense en cómo se sentía respecto a su vida y a la ayuda de Dios.

¡Y Pablo les dijo a los efesios que se pusieran un guardarropa completo de buenas vestimentas espirituales! Miren lo que les dice Pablo:
Eph 6:14 RVG10 Estad, pues, firmes, ceñidos vuestros lomos de verdad, y vestidos de la coraza de justicia;
Eph 6:15 RVG10 y calzados vuestros pies con el apresto del evangelio de paz.
De hecho, Pablo dice que necesitamos revestirnos de Cristo.
Rom 13:12 RVG10 La noche está avanzada, y el día está por llegar; desechemos, pues, las obras de las tinieblas, y vistámonos las armas de luz.
Rom 13:13 RVG10 Andemos honestamente, como de día; no en desenfrenos y borracheras; no en lujurias y lascivias, ni en contiendas y envidias.
Rom 13:14 RVG10 Mas vestíos del Señor Jesucristo, y no proveáis para satisfacer los deseos de la carne.
Así que me parece que revestirnos de Cristo, ponernos nuestra armadura espiritual y calzarnos esos zapatos con suelas de hierro tiene mucho que ver con acercarnos al Señor constantemente. Y con aprender a alejarnos del pecado. ¡Y eso es tan difícil de aprender!
Ahora veamos ese versículo clave por última vez.
Deut 33:25 RVG10 Hierro y bronce será tu calzado, y como tus días, así será tu fortaleza.
Dice “según tus días”, lo que significa la cantidad de días que tendrás y, sin duda, también cómo te están yendo los días en este momento. Y esa es otra gran reflexión para nosotros.
Dios conoce nuestros días… y están contados.
Incluso sabe cuánto cabello tenemos en la cabeza.
Yo tengo menos que antes…
Y Jesús dijo:
Matt 10:30 RVG10 Pues aun los cabellos de vuestra cabeza están todos contados.
Nuestro Padre nos conoce muy bien a cada uno de nosotros.
Sabe exactamente cómo van nuestras vidas.
Conoce nuestras fortalezas y nuestras debilidades.
Y nos ha dado la fuerza suficiente para cada día de nuestras vidas.
Desde el primero hasta el último.
Dios está con nosotros, caminando a nuestro lado y ayudándonos en cada paso del camino.
Acerquémonos, pues, al Señor, vistiendo toda la armadura y calzando los zapatos que Dios nos ha dado. Y caminemos con confianza hacia este Nuevo Año, recordando que Dios dice que nos conoce por completo y que nos ayudará.
