A Gift . . The Savior!

Hi Friends! Here’s A Bible Thought For You.

Those shepherds were watching their sheep that night around 2,000 years ago.
And suddenly . . the angel of the Lord was just above them!
Wilbur Pickering’s translation is great – “When wow an angel . . stood before them”.
Luke 2:9 WPNT When wow, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.
Those poor shepherds were not expecting that! They were scared to death!
Luke 2:9 AKJV/PCE And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
Luke 2:10 AKJV/PCE And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
Growing up in the church I heard a lot of Hell Fire and Brimstone Preaching.
I don’t think much of that now. But it was all that I knew then . .
So I figured that if God or an angel was sudden;y in front of me I would faint . . or maybe die on the spot. And that is probably what most of us would do.
But after many years of studying the Bible I have noticed that it seems that God doesn’t really want us to do that afterall.
Notice friends, that the first thing this powerful angelic being, with God’s authority, does is tell these poor terrified shepherds “Do not be afraid because listen . . ” (WPNT), “Stop being afraid! Listen!” (ISV).
Then he tells them the wonderful reason why he has come to them.
Luke 2:10 AKJV/PCE And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
The angel of the Lord is bringing to them this message.
So this message is to them from God!
And it’s also to us from God today!
The message is this –
good tidings = to bring good news, glad tidings
great = mega, big
joy = cheerfulness, gladness
That angel brought a personal message to them then and all of us today of good, glad news! This message is so good that it’s mega full of cheerfulness, gladness!
So what is this wonderful message directly From the Father in Heaven To us here on earth?
Luke 2:11 AKJV/PCE For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
The Savior of our souls has come!!
Savior = a savior, a protector a defender
Jesus came specifically to save his people from the judgment on their sins!
Matt 1:21 AKJV/PCE And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Matt 1:22 AKJV/PCE Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
Matt 1:23 AKJV/PCE Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
The Father doesn’t want to condemn = declare us guilty and punish us.
Rather, He wants to save us = deliver us from that judgment and punishment!
John 3:14 AKJV/PCE ¶ And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
John 3:15 AKJV/PCE That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:16 AKJV/PCE ¶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:17 AKJV/PCE For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
And this good, glad message of saving, forgiveness and eternal life is for us – all people – today!
We simply ask God to forgive us of all our sins through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
Amen.
Rom 10:9 WEB that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Rom 10:10 WEB For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Un regalo… ¡El Salvador!

Hola amigos! Aquí tienes un pensamiento bíblico para ti.
Aquellos pastores estaban cuidando sus ovejas esa noche, hace unos 2000 años.
Y de repente… ¡el ángel del Señor apareció justo encima de ellos!
La traducción de la NTV es excelente: “De repente, apareció entre ellos un ángel”.
Luke 2:9 NTV De repente, apareció entre ellos un ángel del Señor, y el resplandor de la gloria del Señor los rodeó. Los pastores estaban aterrados,
¡Esos pobres pastores no se esperaban eso! ¡Estaban muertos de miedo!
Luke 2:9 RVG10 Y he aquí, el ángel del Señor vino sobre ellos, y la gloria del Señor los cercó de resplandor; y tuvieron gran temor.
Luke 2:10 RVG10 Mas el ángel les dijo: No temáis; porque he aquí os doy nuevas de gran gozo, que será para todo el pueblo:
Al crecer en la iglesia, escuché muchos sermones sobre el infierno y el castigo eterno.
Ahora no le doy mucha importancia a eso. Pero en aquel entonces era todo lo que conocía.
Así que pensé que si Dios o un ángel apareciera de repente frente a mí, me desmayaría… o quizás moriría en el acto. Y probablemente eso es lo que la mayoría de nosotros haría.
Pero después de muchos años de estudiar la Biblia, me he dado cuenta de que parece que Dios en realidad no quiere que reaccionemos así.
Fíjense, amigos, que lo primero que hace este poderoso ser angelical, con la autoridad de Dios, es decirles a estos pobres pastores aterrorizados: «No tengan miedo…» (NTV), «¡No tengan miedo! ¡Escuchen!» (NBV).
Luego les explica la maravillosa razón por la que ha venido a ellos.
Luke 2:10 RVG10 Mas el ángel les dijo: No temáis; porque he aquí os doy nuevas de gran gozo, que será para todo el pueblo:
El ángel del Señor les trae este mensaje.
¡Así que este mensaje les llega de parte de Dios!
¡Y también nos llega a nosotros de parte de Dios hoy!
El mensaje es el siguiente:
buenas noticias = traer buenas nuevas, noticias alegres
genial = estupendo, magnífico
alegría = júbilo, felicidad
Ese ángel les trajo un mensaje personal, y también a todos nosotros hoy, de buenas y alegres noticias. ¡Este mensaje es tan bueno que está repleto de alegría y felicidad!
Entonces, ¿cuál es este maravilloso mensaje que nos llega directamente del Padre Celestial aquí en la Tierra?
Luke 2:11 RVG10 Que os ha nacido hoy, en la ciudad de David, un Salvador, que es Cristo el Señor.
¡El Salvador de nuestras almas ha llegado!
Salvador = un salvador, un protector, un defensor
¡Jesús vino específicamente para salvar a su pueblo del juicio por sus pecados!
Matt 1:21 RVG10 Y dará a luz un hijo, y llamarás su nombre JESÚS; porque Él salvará a su pueblo de sus pecados.
Matt 1:22 RVG10 Todo esto aconteció para que se cumpliese lo que fue dicho del Señor, por el profeta que dijo:
Matt 1:23 RVG10 He aquí una virgen concebirá y dará a luz un hijo, y llamarás su nombre Emmanuel, que interpretado es: Dios con nosotros.
El Padre no quiere condenarnos, es decir, declararnos culpables y castigarnos.
Al contrario, ¡quiere salvarnos, es decir, librarnos de ese juicio y castigo!
John 3:14 RVG10 Y como Moisés levantó la serpiente en el desierto, así es necesario que el Hijo del Hombre sea levantado;
John 3:15 RVG10 para que todo aquel que en Él cree, no se pierda, mas tenga vida eterna.
John 3:16 RVG10 Porque de tal manera amó Dios al mundo, que ha dado a su Hijo unigénito, para que todo aquel que en Él cree, no se pierda, mas tenga vida eterna.
John 3:17 RVG10 Porque no envió Dios a su Hijo al mundo para condenar al mundo, sino para que el mundo sea salvo por Él.
Y este mensaje bueno y gozoso de salvación, perdón y vida eterna es para nosotros, para todas las personas, ¡hoy mismo!
Simplemente le pedimos a Dios que nos perdone todos nuestros pecados por medio de Jesucristo, nuestro Señor y Salvador.
