Thanksgiving to our Lord!

WHERE WE GOT THANKSGIVING
The first Thanksgiving was at Plymouth Rock December 1621.
There was a three-day feast with 90 Native Americans and 50 colonists who ate and celebrated from their harvest of hunted turkeys and deer.
Interestingly, our Thanksgiving Celebration in late November is similar in foods and decorations to the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles which is usually in early October.
Notice how Nehemiah and Exra taught the people about the Feast of Tabernacles.
Neh 8:9 AKJV/PCE ¶ And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the LORD your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law.
Neh 8:10 AKJV/PCE Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
Athletic events, races, wrestling, etc. – The Pilgrims celebrated at that first Thanksgiving with athletic events. So our Thanksgiving Day Football may be very proper! Paul clearly liked sports and used them as an example for us of striving for the prize!
1Cor 9:24 AKJV/PCE Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
2Tim 4:7 AKJV/PCE I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
Prayer – Our ancestors prayed. And we must pray to God also!
Phil 4:6 AKJV/PCE Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Phil 4:7 AKJV/PCE And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Praise – They praised God for His goodness and provision! And we must also praise our Heavenly Father!
Ps 92:1 AKJV/PCE A Psalm or Song for the sabbath day. It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:
Ps 92:2 AKJV/PCE To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night.
Ps 92:3 AKJV/PCE Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound.
Ps 92:4 AKJV/PCE For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.
Ps 92:5 AKJV/PCE O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.
We’re told to be Thankful to God!
Ps 100:1 AKJV/PCE A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
Ps 100:2 AKJV/PCE Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Ps 100:3 AKJV/PCE Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Ps 100:4 AKJV/PCE Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
Ps 100:5 AKJV/PCE For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
And let’s be Thankful for our wonderful Thanksgiving Meal!

Our National Day of Thanksgiving!
Doing some research on Thanksgiving I found that Google AI says this –
“Sarah Hale’s persistence lasted closer to 15-17 years of direct campaigning, not 30. After years of writing about the holiday and lobbying other officials, she successfully wrote to Lincoln in September 1863, and he issued the proclamation a few weeks later.”
And I’m glad that Sarah Hale persisted and that President Lincoln accepted her great idea!
Ps 33:11 ISV But the LORD’s counsel stands firm forever, the plans in his mind for all generations.
Ps 33:12 ISV How blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he has chosen as his own inheritance.

¿De dónde surgió el Día de Acción de Gracias?
