Arms and Air Power in the Prophecies?

HI FRIENDS! HERE’S A PROPHECY THOUGHT FOR YOU.

I’ve noticed over the years that some things described by the Bible prophets just sound like equipment in our modern world. I’ve wondered about this over the years. And I honestly believe that in some cases the Lord allowed prophets to see our modern world and armaments. Of course, the prophets then explained what they saw using names and things they had in their world.
Let’s look at some examples.
Let’s start with Isaiah 31:5-7 –
Isa 31:5 WEBBE As birds hovering, so the LORD of Armies will protect Jerusalem. He will protect and deliver it. He will pass over and preserve it.”
Isa 31:6 WEBBE Return to him from whom you have deeply revolted, children of Israel.
Isa 31:7 WEBBE For in that day everyone shall cast away his idols of silver and his idols of gold—sin which your own hands have made for you.
This seems to me to be more than just the Lord protecting Jerusalem from the Assyrian invasion of Israel and Judah. It’s significant that the setting seems ultimately to be in the end times. Isaiah 31:7 says that they are all throwing their idols away!
And End Times prophecy shows that idolatry is a problem even for the people of Israel up to the end.
A parallel passage in Isaiah 2:4, 19-20 also seems to me to look to the End Times. NOTE How Isaiah 2:20 and 31:7 BOTH use that wording “in that day”. That time when Israel fully returns to the Lord and is brought back into the land.
And notice that in Isaiah 2:20 the people are finally throwing away their idols as in Isaiah 31:7 above.
Isa 2:4 WEBBE He will judge between the nations, and will decide concerning many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into ploughshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
Isa 2:19 WEBBE Men shall go into the caves of the rocks, and into the holes of the earth, from before the terror of the LORD, and from the glory of his majesty, when he arises to shake the earth mightily.
Isa 2:20 WEBBE In that day, men shall cast away their idols of silver, and their idols of gold, which have been made for themselves to worship, to the moles and to the bats;
And look at Isaiah 2:4. That language “beat their swords into ploughshares, and their spears into pruning hooks” is Millennial talk. We should know that.
And it’s at that time that the Lord says they finally throw away all their idols. They finally fully return to the Lord God.
So it’s in those end times that we see Isa 31:5 saying “As birds hovering, so the LORD of Armies will protect Jerusalem”. As birds hovering (KJV “as birds flying”).
Some think it sounds like the prophet may have seen aircraft in his vision.
I think that’s a really interesting thought.
Now let’s look at Isaiah 60.
This is the time when Jesus has returned to rule this earth. And more of the people of Israel are joyfully returning to the land of Israel. And the nations are joyfully helping them return. That certainly wouldn’t happen right now!
Isa 60:4 WEBBE “Lift up your eyes all around, and see: they all gather themselves together. They come to you. Your sons will come from far away, and your daughters will be carried in arms.
Isa 60:5 WEBBE Then you shall see and be radiant, and your heart will thrill and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea will be turned to you. The wealth of the nations will come to you.
Isa 60:6 WEBBE A multitude of camels will cover you, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah. All from Sheba will come. They will bring gold and frankincense, and will proclaim the praises of the LORD.
Isa 60:7 WEBBE All the flocks of Kedar will be gathered together to you. The rams of Nebaioth will serve you. They will be accepted as offerings on my altar; and I will beautify my glorious house.
Now Isaiah verses 6-7 are largely literal. I believe that those flocks and rams are literal.
But I do suspect that Isaiah may have see a hint of modern trucking moving supplies to Israel from these other distant nations? Those who have survived the destruction of the Tribulation seem happy to hurry and do these things for God’s people and for the land of Israel. But I have to think that camels carrying all those riches from Sheba all the way to Israel might take awhile! So when this happens might it actually be lots of modern trucks rolling down the highways?
And I have read that there is a modern road system linking these areas of ancient Sheba, Arabia and Israel!
Isa 60:8 WEBBE “Who are these who fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?
Now look at what Isaiah says he saw here in verse 8.
They fly like a cloud. And like doves.
Did Isaiah see a hint of aircraft flying here?
Isa 60:9 WEBBE Surely the islands will wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring your sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, for the name of the LORD your God, and for the Holy One of Israel, because he has glorified you.
This must be modern shipping carry these people of God back to the land.
In Zechariah 9 we see a lot of descriptions of the fighting that will take place in the land of Israel in the end times.
Zech 9:10 WEBBE I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem; and the battle bow will be cut off; and he will speak peace to the nations: and his dominion will be from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth.
First the Lord talks here about the time when He will take away from Ephraim (that is Israel) the need for their weapons of war. That will happen during the Millennium. Chariots and battle bows are mentioned here – perhaps Zechariah may have seen a hint of modern military equipment, tanks, troop carriers and assault rifles.
Either way, in these end times these chariots and battle bows will be modern military vehicles – tanks, trucks – and weapons such as assault rifles.
Zech 9:13 WEBBE For indeed I bend Judah as a bow for me. I have filled the bow with Ephraim; and I will stir up your sons, Zion, against your sons, Greece, and will make you like the sword of a mighty man.
Now Zechariah 9:10 above places this in the Millennium times when Jesus has just returned to this earth. But here in Zechariah 9:13 we see that there is still fighting in Israel and that the Lord will help the people of Israel here to fight for their land.
Zech 9:14 WEBBE The LORD will be seen over them; and his arrow will go flash like lightning; and the Lord GOD will blow the trumpet, and will go with whirlwinds of the south.
WOW! Look at that description!
Now I do believe that the Lord will literally enter into the fighting to defend Israel as He did in ancient times. The Lord is seen above them here. He blasts a trumpet sound. It seems that He stirs up the wind maybe to confuse the enemy.
And that arrow flashing through the sky is sure interesting (missiles?).
That description just makes me wonder.
And look how this fits in with the next verse.
Zech 9:15 WEBBE The LORD of Armies will defend them; and they will destroy and overcome with sling stones; and they will drink, and roar as through wine; and they will be filled like bowls, like the corners of the altar.
Now it was a blast to make slingshots when we were kids. But we had to be careful not to break any windows!
And I seriously doubt that Israel will be literally using slingshots here.
So when Zechariah mentions these sling stones could he have seen or gotten the sense of modern artillery, mortars and rockets? Something like that?
Zech 9:16 WEBBE The LORD their God will save them in that day as the flock of his people; for they are like the jewels of a crown, lifted on high over his land.
Zech 9:17 WEBBE For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! Grain will make the young men flourish, and new wine the virgins.
Notice that the Lord their God will save them “in that day’.
And Israel is clearly fighting alongside their Lord.
And there is “that day” again.
Now in Revelation 12 we see the dragon – Satan – finally thrown out of heaven in the middle of the Great Tribulation’s 7 years. And he will go after this woman who I believe represents those in Israel at that time who are Christians (Messianic Believers).
Look at vs. 17 below. These people of Israel hold Jesus’ testimony.
So they are Christian Believers.
Rev 12:13 WEBBE When the dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child.
Rev 12:14 WEBBE Two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, so that she might be nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
Satan will go after her (these people of Israel). And some will be helped to flee from the land.
Notice that “Two wings of the great eagle” will help these people to flee to safety! Surely this is an airlift by some ally of Israel helping them. I personally suspect that it is we Western Nations that still support the people of Israel.
The symbol of an eagle is used here.
And these people of Israel are helped for a time, times and half a time.
That is 1+2+1/2 = 3 ½. I believe that this time is the 3 ½ years of the second half of the Tribulation.
Rev 12:15 WEBBE The serpent spewed water out of his mouth after the woman like a river, that he might cause her to be carried away by the stream.
Rev 12:16 WEBBE The earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon spewed out of his mouth.
Rev 12:17 WEBBE The dragon grew angry with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep God’s commandments and hold Jesus’ testimony.
Then Satan – surely using his man the antichrist – attacks these people of Israel as they flee. So what in the world is this about the water and what about the earth swallowing this water to protect them? I don’t know what to think about all of that. But I do find it interesting that the earth protects these people of God from this water. Maybe in some way allies of Israel again help to protect these people of Israel as they flee.
I think this is really interesting.
