The Ten Virgins.

Matt 25:1 AKJV/PCE Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
Jesus uses this story about the Ten Virgins and the Marriage to make the Point that we have to watch and be ready for His Coming.
QUESTION – Is this story more for we Christians or for the people of Israel.
The article “What is the meaning of the Parable of the Ten Virgins?” at https://www.gotquestions.org/parable-ten-virgins.html Downloaded 05-29-25 says this “Some interpret this parable as a picture of the rapture of the church. We believe a better interpretation is that the parable of the ten virgins pictures Christ’s second coming at the end of the tribulation.”
And Matthew 25 does continue the teaching that Jesus starts in Matthew 24.
There He talks about the future destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem, the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet, Great Tribulation, Jesus Second Coming.
Matt 24:30 AKJV/PCE And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
So it seems that the warning to watch for Jesus Return in this passage seems geared more to Jesus Second Coming at the End of the Seven Years of the Great Tribulation instead of the Catching Away (Rapture) of the Church before the Tribulation.
This story of the Ten Virgins is based on a Jewish Wedding and Feast of Jesus’ time. And these virgins are surely the Bridesmaids. That article https://www.gotquestions.org/parable-ten-virgins.html explains how the Wedding process went.
These Ten Virgins had to wait for the Bridegroom’s procession (with the Bride) to pass by and call out for them to come. And each one of these Bridesmaids was expected to keep her own torch and to have enough oil to keep it burning as they traveled back to the Bridegroom’s house. But five of these Bridesmaids were foolish = dull-witted, foolish, mentally slow (as if shut up), i.e. heedless.
They did not have enough oil!
THOUGHT – The oil can represent the Spirit of God.
And we will have the Spirit inside of us If we are a Christian.
Rom 8:9 WEB But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.
So it seems that these five foolish Virgins were not really Christians.
And the Bridegroom who is Jesus our Lord has come in this story.
And those who are Believers have gone in with Him.
But the foolish unprepared Virgins are locked out in the story.
INFORMATION – In the middle of the Tribulation (Revelation 12) Satan will try to destroy many of the Jewish people in the land at that time. Probably this is because they are Christians and surely oppose him!
Some escape (See Rev. 12:6, 13-17) to a place God has provided for them. Satan will war against the other Jewish people who are Christians.
Rev 12:17 WEB The dragon grew angry with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep God’s commandments and hold Jesus’ testimony.
UNDERSTAND – Jesus’ parables help illustrate His teaching. The point to basic truths of His teachings. They don’t really give great details.
This story of the Ten Virgins sure makes us think about Jesus Second Coming.
It doesn’t exactly match all the things that will happen or that Jesus will do when He returns to this earth.
REMEMBER – That Jesus said that the kingdom of heaven shall be likened unto ten virgins.
That likened = 1. to assimilate, i.e. compare.
2. (passively) to become similar.
The story is similar enough to help us understand the Kingdom of Heaven a little better.
POINT – We All need to be watching for Jesus Coming for us. That is true of we Christians watching for the Catching Up of the Church, and the people of Israel watching for the Messiah (who is Jesus Christ!) at the end of that terrible time of Tribulation.

Matt 25:1 RVG10 Entonces el reino de los cielos será semejante a diez vírgenes que tomando sus lámparas, salieron a recibir al esposo.
Jesús usa esta historia de las Diez Vírgenes y las Bodas para recalcar que debemos estar atentos y preparados para su venida.
PREGUNTA: ¿Esta historia es más para nosotros, los cristianos, o para el pueblo de Israel?

y descargado el 29/05/2025, dice: “Algunos interpretan esta parábola como una imagen del rapto de la iglesia. Creemos que una mejor interpretación es que la parábola de las diez vírgenes representa la segunda venida de Cristo al final de la tribulación”.
Mateo 25 continúa la enseñanza que Jesús inicia en Mateo 24.

PENSAMIENTO: El aceite puede representar el Espíritu de Dios.
Y tendremos el Espíritu dentro de nosotras si somos cristianas.
Rom 8:9 RVG10 Mas vosotros no estáis en la carne, sino en el Espíritu, si es que el Espíritu de Dios mora en vosotros. Y si alguno no tiene el Espíritu de Cristo, el tal no es de Él.
Así que parece que estas cinco vírgenes insensatas no eran realmente cristianas.
Y el Novio, que es Jesús nuestro Señor, ha venido en esta historia.
Y los creyentes han entrado con él.
Pero las vírgenes insensatas e impreparadas quedan excluidas de la historia.
INFORMACIÓN: En medio de la Tribulación (Apocalipsis 12), Satanás intentará destruir a muchos judíos de la tierra en ese momento. Probablemente se deba a que son cristianos y sin duda se oponen a él.
Algunos escapan (véase Apocalipsis 12:6, 13-17) a un lugar que Dios les ha provisto. Satanás luchará contra los demás judíos cristianos.

Esta historia de las Diez Vírgenes sin duda nos hace pensar en la Segunda Venida de Jesús.
No se corresponde exactamente con todo lo que sucederá ni con lo que Jesús hará cuando regrese a esta tierra.
RECUERDA – Jesús dijo que el reino de los cielos será semejante a diez vírgenes.
Que se semejante = 1. asimilar, es decir, comparar.
2. (pasivamente) volverse similar.
La historia es lo suficientemente similar como para ayudarnos a comprender mejor el Reino de los Cielos.
PUNTO: Todos debemos estar atentos a la venida de Jesús. Esto aplica tanto a los cristianos que esperamos el arrebatamiento de la Iglesia como al pueblo de Israel que espera al Mesías (¡que es Jesucristo!) al final de ese terrible tiempo de Tribulación.
