Mark 4:41 ESV2011 And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”
ESV2011 says “great fear”! HCSB says “they were terrified”. ISV says “Overcome with fear”. WEB says “They were greatly afraid”. That’s interesting.

Water into wine, Heals Official’s son, Evil spirit out of a man, Heals Peter’s mother of a fever, Heals many sick and oppressed, Caught a huge amount of fish, Cleanses a leper, Heals a Centurion’s servant, Heals a paralyzed man, Heals a man’s withered hand, and Raises a widow’s son from the dead!
So they have seen more than 11 incredible miracles by Christ.
But when they saw Him calm those deadly rolling waves with a few words it scared them badly! They didn’t know what to think.
Maybe they finally realized that Jesus had the kind of power they expected from God!
Some interesting verse references connect to this incident –
Job 26:12 ESV2011 By his power he stilled the sea; by his understanding he shattered Rahab.
Ps 65:7 ESV2011 who stills the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, the tumult of the peoples,
Ps 107:29 ESV2011 He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed.
This incredible power over those terrifying waves compelled the Psalmist write –
Ps 89:8 ESV2011 O LORD God of hosts, who is mighty as you are, O LORD, with your faithfulness all around you?
Ps 89:9 ESV2011 You rule the raging of the sea; when its waves rise, you still them.
So the Lord has been quieting those terrifying waves a very long time.
You know, we need to remember that when we’re having such troubles.

Mark 4:41 RVG10 Y temieron en gran manera, y se decían el uno al otro: ¿Qué clase de hombre es Éste, que aun el viento y el mar le obedecen?
¡NBLA dice “Y se llenaron de gran temor”! NTV dice que ” estaban completamente aterrados”. NVI dice “Ellos estaban espantados”. DHH dice “Ellos se llenaron de miedo”. Es interesante.

Agua en vino, Sana al hijo de un funcionario, Saca el espíritu maligno de un hombre, Sana a la madre de Pedro de una fiebre, Sana a muchos enfermos y oprimidos, Pescó una gran cantidad de peces, Limpia a un leproso, Sana al criado de un centurión, Sana a un paralítico, Sana la mano seca de un hombre, y resucita de entre los muertos al hijo de una viuda!
Así han visto más de 11 increíbles milagros de Cristo.
Pero cuando lo vieron calmar esas olas mortales con unas pocas palabras, ¡se asustaron mucho! No sabían qué pensar.
¡Quizás finalmente se dieron cuenta de que Jesús tenía el tipo de poder que esperaban de Dios!
Algunas referencias en verso interesantes se conectan con este incidente:
Job 26:12 RVG10 Él divide el mar con su poder, y con su entendimiento hiere su arrogancia.
Ps 65:7 RVG10 El que calma el estruendo de los mares, el estruendo de sus ondas, y el alboroto de las naciones.
Ps 107:29 RVG10 Él cambia la tormenta en calma, y se apaciguan sus olas.
Este increíble poder sobre aquellas aterradoras olas obligó al salmista a escribir:
Ps 89:8 RVG10 Oh Jehová, Dios de los ejércitos, ¿Quién como tú? Poderoso eres, Jehová, y tu fidelidad te rodea.
Ps 89:9 RVG10 Tú tienes dominio sobre la braveza del mar; cuando se levantan sus ondas, tú las sosiegas.
Así que el Señor ha estado calmando esas aterradoras olas durante mucho tiempo. Sabes, debemos recordar eso cuando tengamos tales problemas.
