Just saw an interesting article from ScienceNews called “Human memory is flawed. But a new book says that’s OK” By Laura Sanders. The Link is – https://www.sciencenews.org/article/memory-lane-book-review-greene-murphy
This article is about a book called “Memory Lane” by Ciara Greene and Gillian Murphy. The article says about description’s of memory that “. . . one of the most evocative — and neuroscientifically descriptive — invokes Lego bricks. A memory is like a Lego tower. It’s built from the ground up, then broken down, put away in bins and rebuilt in a slightly different form each time it’s taken out.”
Further, the article says “In accessible prose, the book covers a lot of ground, from how we form memories to how delicate those memories really are. Readers may find it interesting (or perhaps upsetting) to learn how bad we all are at remembering why we did something . . . People change their reasoning — or at least, their memories of their reasoning — on these sorts of events all the time.”
WOW!
Maybe that’s why God tells us to Memorize Scripture –
Ps 119:11 ESV2011 I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
Ps 37:31 ESV2011 The law of his God is in his heart; his steps do not slip.
Ps 40:8 ESV2011 I delight to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.”
Rom 7:22 ESV2011 For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being,
Prov 10:7 ESV2011 The memory of the righteous is a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot.
And the Bible tell us that it is very important to know God;s Word because –
Heb 4:12 ESV2011 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Jesus told His disciples that the Spirit will help us remember –
John 14:26 ESV2011 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
Jesus even said that in stressful times the Spirit will tell us what to say –
Matt 10:19 ESV2011 When they deliver you over, do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour.
Matt 10:20 ESV2011 For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
Having scripture hidden away in our minds will give the Spirit Bible Truths to bring to our mind!
So as shaky as it seems our Human Memory may be it sure makes sense to Follow God’s Word and Memorize Scripture. Put in in our Minds and hearts.
And we have the Promise that the Helper, the Spirit will bring God’s Word to our Memory to help us!

Así que, por muy frágil que parezca nuestra memoria humana, sin duda tiene sentido seguir la Palabra de Dios y memorizarla. Grabarla en nuestra mente y corazón.
Y tenemos la promesa de que el Ayudador, el Espíritu, traerá la Palabra de Dios a nuestra memoria para ayudarnos.
