God’s Rest For Us!

Hi Friends! Here’s A Bible Thought For You.

Heb 4:7 ESV2011 again he appoints a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.”
Heb 4:8 ESV2011 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on.
Joshua led Israel into the Promised Land.
But Centuries Later God is still talking through David about a Rest for His people! So what Rest is this? Is it for we Christians today? Yes! Look –
Heb 4:9 ESV2011 So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God,
Heb 4:10 ESV2011 for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.
If we enter this Rest we rest from doing Works to be Saved.
So how do we get this Rest from God? Jesus says He’ll give it to us!
Matt 11:28 ESV2011 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
That’s Basic Gospel.
Yes but Can we Really just Stop Working to please God?
Yes we can! Look –
Eph 2:8 ESV2011 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
Eph 2:9 ESV2011 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Rom 3:28 ESV2011 For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.
M-Strong’s Dictionary says that that “apart from” = “separately or apart from”
works. So we are saved separately from any Religious or Good Works that we might want to do for God.
So we ask God to forgive us and save us through Jesus sacrifice and He accepts our Faith and declares us Justified before Him!
And we are at Rest with God our Father. We don’t have to try to do Good Things to earn our way into Heaven.
Isn’t that such a wonderful promise friends?

Heb 4:8 RVG10 Porque si Jesús les hubiera dado el reposo, no hablaría después de otro día.
Josué condujo a Israel a la Tierra Prometida.
Pero siglos después, Dios sigue hablando a través de David sobre un Descanso para su pueblo. Entonces, ¿qué Descanso es este? ¿Es para nosotros, los cristianos de hoy? ¡Sí! Mira…
Heb 4:9 RVG10 Por tanto, queda un reposo para el pueblo de Dios.
Heb 4:10 RVG10 Porque el que ha entrado en su reposo, también ha reposado de sus obras, como Dios de las suyas.
Si entramos en este Reposo, descansamos de hacer obras para ser salvos.
Entonces, ¿cómo recibimos este Reposo de Dios? ¡Jesús dice que nos lo dará!

Eso es el Evangelio Básico.
Sí, pero ¿podemos realmente dejar de trabajar para agradar a Dios?

Eph 2:9 RVG10 no por obras, para que nadie se gloríe.
Rom 3:28 RVG10 Concluimos, pues, que el hombre es justificado por fe sin las obras de la ley.
El diccionario de M-Strong dice que “sin” = “separadamente o aparte de” las obras. Así que somos salvos independientemente de cualquier obra religiosa o buena que queramos hacer para Dios.
Así que le pedimos a Dios que nos perdone y nos salve mediante el sacrificio de Jesús, y Él acepta nuestra fe y nos declara justificados ante Él.
Y descansamos con Dios nuestro Padre. No tenemos que esforzarnos por hacer cosas buenas para ganarnos el cielo.
