I have a Prophecy thought on:
Daniel 9 – Anti Christ will break his treaty with Israel
In Daniel 9 God gives a Countdown from a kings decree to let the Jewish
people rebuild Jerusalem to the death of the Messiah for others.
Dan 9:25 ESV2011 Know therefore and understand that from the going out of
the word to restore and build Jerusalem to the coming of an anointed one, a
prince, there shall be seven weeks. Then for sixty-two weeks it shall be built
again with squares and moat, but in a troubled time.
Dan 9:26 ESV2011 And after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall be cut
off and shall have nothing. And the people of the prince who is to come shall
destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end shall come with a flood, and to the
end there shall be war. Desolations are decreed.
Dan 9:27 ESV2011 And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one
week, and for half of the week he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering. And
on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the
decreed end is poured out on the desolator.”
In verse 26 the anointed one = the Messiah Jesus Christ.
He is cut off. That means that He dies.
But He does not die for anything that He has done!
Nor does He rule the Kingdom on earth right then.
He is rejected by the people.
And those people of Judah will themselves lose the kingdom to Rome in about
36 years!
That prince to come in verse 26 was Titus the Roman General.
They finally entered Jerusalem and destroyed it and the Temple in 70 AD.
But look . . . in verse 27 we see someone who will make a strong covenant with
the people of Judah again.
This has to be future still because there is a Temple then with sacrifices being
offered to God!
There hasn’t been a Temple in Jerusalem since the last one was destroyed in 70 AD!
This is still future!
He makes it for a week. That means for 7 years.
It really just says for a seven.
NOTE – Daniel is given this countdown. And it has a Total of 70 X 7 = 490
Years. See verse 24.
Dan 9:24 ESV2011 “Seventy weeks are decreed about your people and your
holy city, to finish the transgression, to put an end to sin, and to atone for
iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet,
and to anoint a most holy place.
Dan 9:25 ESV2011 Know therefore and understand that from the going out of

prince, there shall be seven weeks. Then for sixty-two weeks it shall be built

And then 7 X 7 = 49 years and after that 62 X 7 = 434 more years are used up
getting to the appearing of the Messiah Jesus Christ.
That is a Total of 49+434 = 483 years used up.
And the Total of 490 – 483 used = 7 years left to still be fulfilled.
I’m sorry about all that Math!
You probably thought we were back in school again! 😀
But you see that is why you hear so much about 7 years = the Great Tribulation
still to be fulfilled in Prophecy.
But that dastardly little bad guy ruler – the anti christ, the little horn, the man of
sin – he has several names – will some into view during the Great Tribulation.
Dan 9:27 ESV2011 And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one

on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the
decreed end is poured out on the desolator.”
And we are told that he will make a treaty with Israel.
It has to be with Israel since he will break that treaty in the middle of the 7 years and invade!
And he will stop the sacrifices at the Temple.
Israel cannot put their new Temple anywhere other than on the Temple Mount in
Jerusalem.
So that treaty that he makes with Israel won’t be worth the paper it is printed on.
So just remember all of that when you see all this talk at times about Peace!
And an agreement between Israel and her enemies.
Those efforts may be sincere.
And this is not the 7 years of the Great Tribulation yet!
The Church will be Caught Up And Out BEFORE Satan is allowed to start his
plans. But also remember that Paul tells us the mystery of lawlessness is already
working in this earth and in the nations of this world.
2Thess 2:7 ESV2011 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only
he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way.
And the one restraining Satan’s plans is we the Church of Jesus Christ.
But when we are Caught Up of this earth then Satan will be able to implement
his plans.
So any effort now to get peace by limiting Israel’s control of land that God has
said He will give them – is following Satan’s lies to some degree.
And the agreements we broker now will not bring permanent peace.
That will happen ONLY when Jesus comes back to this earth the Second Time
and we come with Him!
But First we the Church will be Caught Up to Christ.
1Thess 4:16 ESV2011 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry
of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
1Thess 4:17 ESV2011 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up
together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will
always be with the Lord.
