Here is a History / Bible Line Thought for you.
Angels, Seraphim and Cherubim
What in the world are these?
Are they really in the Bible.
Yes they are!
ANGELS
We see a good bit about the angels.
In Job we see the angels gathered before the Father.
Evidently this happens at times.
Job 1:6 AKJV/PCE ¶ Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.
Job 1:7 AKJV/PCE And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
Now Satan is in rebellion against God.
But he is still there for this meeting with God!
That is incredible.
But you know, Satan accuses us of our sins and failures
before the Father regularly it seems –
Rev 12:10 AKJV/PCE And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
These angels are ministers of God’s will.
They are powerful.
And they help us Christians!
Heb 1:7 AKJV/PCE And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
Heb 1:13 AKJV/PCE But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
Heb 1:14 AKJV/PCE Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
SERAPHIM
Seraphim, seem to be another type of heavenly being who are in God’s presence.
Rev 4:6 AKJV/PCE And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
Rev 4:7 AKJV/PCE And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
Rev 4:8 AKJV/PCE And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
Rev 4:9 AKJV/PCE And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,
WOW!
These beings are described as one is like a lion.
One is like a calf.
Another one has the face of a man.
And the last one is like an eagle.
We aren’t told if there bodies are uniform or like the image they are like.
They do have each one six wings!
That is a connection we can use.
Isa 6:1 AKJV/PCE In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
Isa 6:2 AKJV/PCE Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
Isa 6:3 AKJV/PCE And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
Isa 6:4 AKJV/PCE And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
Here Isaiah saw Seraphim.
And they had six wings like the ones in Revelation 4.
So I really suspect that those in Revelation 4 are Seraphim.
We get to see more of what they are like there. 😀
These Serahpim seem to be around the Father.
CHERUBIM
Now we see a LOT about the Cherubim in Ezekiel 1.
Ezek 1:4 AKJV/PCE ¶ And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.
Ezek 1:5 AKJV/PCE Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man.
Ezek 1:6 AKJV/PCE And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings.
Ezek 1:7 AKJV/PCE And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf’s foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.
Ezek 1:8 AKJV/PCE And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings.
Ezek 1:9 AKJV/PCE Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward.
Ezek 1:10 AKJV/PCE As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.
Ezek 1:11 AKJV/PCE Thus were their faces: and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.
Ezek 1:12 AKJV/PCE And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went.
Ezek 1:13 AKJV/PCE As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning.
Ezek 1:14 AKJV/PCE And the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.
It seems to me that their bodies and general form was that of a man.
BUT . . . each one had four faces on their head!
The first face that Ezekiel see’s is of a man.
The face to the right of their heads was of a lion!
Then the face on the left side was of an ox!
Then the last face was of an eagle!
WOW!
These beings are really strange looking to we humans.
But these beings are with God as He is zipping around in His vehicle.
I call this God’s Roadster. 😀
I mean that respectfully.
That’s what it seems like to me. 😀
And these Cherubim are described as having feet like a bull’s hoof.
They each one have four wings!
They are said to look like burning coals of fire!
HOT!
They must be powerful.
They sound like it.
I would say that these Cherubim seem to go with the Father when He moves around.
Maybe like an Honor Guard.
But I think they are a very powerful Honor Guard.
Well I think this look at the different types of heavenly beings is really interesting!
