What about all this Dark Matter that we hear about out there in the universe?

I was reading a recent article in Science titled “Has a huge blob of dark matter been found in our galactic neighborhood?” Dated 29 AUG 2025 By Daniel Clery. Downloaded 10-04-25 at –

It says there is this HUGE Mass spanning 100’s of light years. That’s big! I think!

And it’s close by us here in our Galaxy. But we can’t see it! It’s “made of utterly invisible dark matter”.

Now that’s mysterious and way beyond my understanding!

Google AI Downloaded 10-07-25 says this about Dark Matter “Yes, dark matter acts as the “invisible glue” that holds galaxies, galaxy clusters, and the large-scale structure of the universe together through its gravitational pull. While dark energy accelerates the expansion of the universe, dark matter’s gravity counteracts this by attracting and binding cosmic structures, forming what is known as a cosmic web.”

That is tru;y fascinating!

So what could this Dark Matter be?

Now being a Believer, I have to wonder if our Bible talks in any way about such a BIG Mystery as this Dark Matter?

Google AI Overview says this about it (Downloaded 10-04-25) –

Now that’s interesting. And from Google AI!

CONSIDER – Paul writes this about the Jesus and the Creation in Collosians 1:16-17 –

Col 1:16 ESV2011 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.

Col 1:17 ESV2011 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

And in Hebrews 1:2-3 we see more on this thought of Jesus being the Creator of this universe. And we also see that Christ is holding it all together.

Heb 1:2 ESV2011 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.

Heb 1:3 ESV2011 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

That word in verse 3 “upholds” = to bring or carry. And it is a Present Active Participle in the Greek Language, which as I understand it, indicates an ongoing action.

POINT – Jesus is continuing to hold this universe together.

QUESTION – Could this Dark Matter – that we can’t see out there – possibly be the Lord holding everything together in place like it should be?!
